At just over 1000 ft above street level and getting a little dizzy from the slow revolve, took a time to adapt.

Some of the old Sydney is there buried amongst the new.

Berry Island

No, not Barry Island although they share the same  misnomer, neither of them are now islands. Berry is a little bit wilder than Barry though.

Blue Jacaranda. Not a native tree, having been brought to Australia from Central America in the 1850's. We are fortunate to be here during the spring flowering.

before emerging again to that bridge.

 Another great place to stay found by Gek with the bonus of a Little Creatures micro brewery on site.

Cyfarthfa Castle Park

The night before our park walk.  A moon rises.

Our visit was for lunch and to enjoy an autumn walk. Here the new shopping centre, looking of all the world like another castle.

Lovely colours.

Merthyr's own viaduct.  The first ever trial of a full-scale working steam locomotive was done here at the Penydarren Iron works in 1804: the designer/engineer, a Cornish man, Richard Trevithick.

Autumnal Walk

 Starting at Gilwern,

walking towards  Brecon

along the Brec-Mon Canal. One of the many bridges we squeezed through two years ago.
