Botanical Gardens

First, a visit to the new area acquired by the garden in 2017.

which included a then derelict, abandon colonial building completed in 1898, which was the French Embassy between 1939 and 1999

After a major restoration project on the house and grounds, it and the area was opened to public in 2021 as a botanic art exhibition space.

The Atbara, it's name, pre-dates the Black and White colonial bungalows but is considered as Singapore's first B and W residence.

A second smaller building, Inverurie, in the grounds has also been restored,

where we took a little rest before

continuing our stroll

passing the band stand

and Chopin playing one of his piano pieces for an admirer of his works, before reaching The Garages for lunch by the north gate.
