Tsenher Hot Spring.

Hot water, really hot water wells out of the side of the hill. It must be about 60 deg C. It smells sulphurous, like bad eggs. Not too bad, but noticeable smelly. The tepee looking structure is a shaman recognition of respect for the spring. The overflow starts a small river which is still warm even half a km from the source. Bizarrely, there are snakes here. The heat from the spring and in the land must make it possible for them to survive the –30 deg C winters. Need to look into this!!!

The water is piped away to green houses where tomatoes and cumbers are grown for use in the ger camps. The water also provides central heating for the permanent buildings in the valley, showers and an out door spa bath. No problem with your heating going off in the middle of winter!! When you wash in the water, your skin goes amazingly smooth and as I found out later may peel off!!!!!
