The idea was to go to Lotus with some students from Ulaanbaatar International School . The students had collected cloths, toys and goodies for the Lotus kids. We were to meet the students in town and go with them in their car to the Lotus centre. But the car when it arrived as too small for all six of us, plus a dozen or so boxes.
A quick call to dad for a replacement car and a brand new Hummer turned up!!
The kids did a concert which included singing, dancing, horse head fiddle and guitar playing. They are so good at performing.
The driver of the Hummer must have doubled as a bodyguard, being dark suited and all. A bear of a man, he was clearly moved by the children’s performances. Most Mongolian men I have met relate easily to children and our driver was no exception being completely at ease sitting amongst the children.
